MEAGHAN MCGUIRE, FNP-C, IBCLC

Family Nurse Practitioner

Meaghan McGuire, FNP-C, IBCLC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who brings a thoughtful, integrative approach to patient care. Her work is grounded in both conventional clinical training and functional medicine, with a strong emphasis on understanding the root causes of health concerns and supporting the whole person in the healing process.

At Emergence Health, Meaghan works closely with Leah, patients, and the care team to support high-touch, personalized care. She brings a detail-oriented and highly engaged approach to clinical preparation, patient education, and ongoing care management. Her experience as both a nurse and functional medicine assistant allows her to bridge clinical insight with the day-to-day realities of implementing sustainable health changes, while maintaining a strong foundation in thorough assessment, patient communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Meaghan has a particular focus on women’s health, maternal and infant care, and integrative approaches to healing. She brings in-depth experience in maternity and postpartum nursing, most recently at Greenwich Hospital, CT within the Yale New Haven Health system, where she supported mothers and newborns through recovery, education, and early-life care. As a lactation consultant (IBCLC), she provides evidence-based, compassionate guidance to the breastfeeding dyad.

Her approach to care is rooted in curiosity, precision, and compassion. She believes in empowering patients to become active participants in their health by helping them better understand their bodies, their options, and the deeper drivers of their symptoms.

Meaghan earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University’s School of Nursing, where she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner training with a concentration in oncology - an area she plans to further pursue within her clinical work. While attending Yale University, Meaghan began her functional medicine assistant internship with Emergence Health, and quickly became Leah’s right hand person for patient prep and patient visit notes, both integral parts of the practice. She also holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Exercise Science from the University of Oklahoma.

Meaghan is originally a native of the Chicago area, and is proud to have returned to living there with her fiancé, Jordan. She immensely enjoys trying her hand at cooking new recipes, sourdough bread baking, and long walks with her adored dog, Sally.

WHAT PATIENTS ARE SAYING:

“In one of the scariest and most vulnerable moments in my life I had the privilege of being taken care of by Meaghan. Meaghan was not only a highly skilled nurse, but her ability to connect and empathize with her patients distinguished her from the dozens of other nurses that treated me over my stay.”

“Meaghan was absolutely wonderful in helping us navigate the uncertainty of being first time parents. She helped us establish a breastfeeding pattern with our newborn by giving us useful advice while easing our anxiety. Her patience and insight was instrumental in getting a solid feeding plan in place.”

“I really needed a kind and compassionate person to help guide me through my postpartum experience without judgment but kindness and care. Meaghan helped my husband and I with our baby care and questions when I was not feeling my best.”

“Thank you for taking care of my baby and I. I felt very comfortable and safe in your care.”
